Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

In our organization, Concur Travel is the main tool for air ticket reservations. It does help with hotel reservations too, but somehow its adoption is not really strong there. Even though it has a corporate scope, secretaries still are inclined to contact directly with travel agencies and bypass the system usage.
  • Search engine for flights is really good.
  • The user profile is powerful and you can add frequent user programs and declare preferred airlines really easy.
  • Hotel search has many options—based on name, location or distance to a given point.
  • When exceptions to the configured policies arise, the tool really lacks information about which policies you are messing with and its consequences.
  • Flight search engine seems to lack many options when compared to internet searches.
  • Luggage policies related to tickets barely have the right info about allowed pieces.
  • If you just want to get from A to B, Concur allows you to get a seamless solution quickly, which free users to focus on its real objectives.
  • From a controller view, it really helps to get preventive controls on place regarding employee travels budget and internal policies.
  • Missing flight options may create a window where users will refuse (or not to fully adopt) to use the tool.
SAP is our financial and ERP system and is fully integrated. As an end-user, my perspective is that in only one tool, I can arrange my travels, get propper approvals and keep expenses under budget without requiring other solutions or external reports, which makes me willing to still use it despite its flaws.
I have never used a tool like this before, so I have not a fare comparison point to start with, but on my perspective, it really clean the way to get a good trip with just a few clicks here and there, so if you are not a travel person, this tool will help you to get to your destinations without effort.
Employee experience, from a non-travel person, is great. Since you start the trip search everything flows smoothly, and it's really close to a travel agency from the point of view that it makes almost all that you need to put you on your destination, it can really help to overcome any mobility aversion that the employee may have.
It is a great option if you are looking for a simple way to arrange travels in your company. It covers almost anything that you could require for setting up business travel in a generic way, but I think that if you have a few resources on your own, it is not really hard to find better options on flights or hotel reservations.
