Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

My organization is using Concur Travel and Expense across the entire company. The platform helps us to manage/monitor company credit card expenses and track travel costs. In my personal case, I use Concur Travel and Expense to budget and monitor marketing expenses for tradeshows. These events require credit card payments for tradeshow logistics, as well as hotels and flights for all employees attending the event. Concur Travel and Expense helps us to keep track of all of these expenses coming from so many directions and makes it easier for me to report the tradeshow budget because all of these expenses are in my report library on Concur Travel and Expense.
  • I love having the report library accessible on Concur Travel and Expense. Each time you submit a report (receipts matching each transaction on your account), the report is saved in your 'Report Library.' I can access this when I'm outlining the budget or creating a cost report so I can see everything we purchased within any time frame.
  • Being able to upload receipts to Concur Travel and Expense without associating it with an expense is a great feature. Since it takes a while for an expense to appear in your account, you can go ahead and upload a receipt as soon as you make a purchase. That way, it's there on your list when the expense does appear, and you won't have to search for a receipt days later.
  • One thing that Concur Travel and Expense's could improve on is UX. The platform is a little difficult to navigate sometimes, and I have trouble finding different features within site. I access my report library monthly to track expenses, and I always have trouble finding it.
  • Concur Travel and Expense saves significant time considering the process employees need to follow when verifying expenses without it. In a previous role, I used to receive an excel file from someone in accounting, and I had to send a word document where I pasted all of the receipts that go along with those expenses. The process was tedious for both accounting and anyone else who held a corporate card. In Concur Travel and Expense, I can see all of my expenses at any time and submit a simple form that gives accounting all of the information they need.
  • Concur Travel and Expense has also helped with predicting budget needs for the upcoming year. I can quickly go into Concur Travel and Expense to see how much I'd spent in the previous year to predict the costs for the coming year. Using Concur Travel and Expense has helped the most with this task and lowered the number of expense spreadsheets I have from 4 to just 1.
My company integrates Concur Travel and Expense with Oracle, and the integration simplifies communication with accounting. Concur Travel and Expense can pick up on all of the account numbers we use for expense categories in Oracle and makes it extremely easy to submit reports. The accounting team always knows which expenses are applied to which accounts, and the program will alert you if you try to submit a report without providing this information.
Concur Travel and Expense have helped our organization as we'we evolved into an international company. One of the best features for us has been the currency conversions. I coordinate tradeshows across the globe, and it always helps that international expenses are converted into US dollars. This is extremely helpful because I've had trouble creating reports in the past for this reason - tedious conversions for international expenses.
Concur Travel and Expense has lowered the amount of labor the employees have devoted to reporting expenses in the past. Because everyone can easily submit expense reports in Concur Travel and Expense, more employees can have company cards. In the past, company cards were limited because the accounting team wouldn't have been able to handle the amount of work it required. This is no longer an issue, and many employees' jobs are far easier.
I would use Concur Travel and Expense in any company that administers company cards. The program is a need for companies whose employees travel often, but I would still recommend it to companies whose employees don't travel but have company credit cards that they use very often. Even when I'm not traveling, I have so many expenses to approve in Concur Travel and Expense. It saves so much labor compared to what I've done in previous roles.
