Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

Our company, a startup, originally implemented Concur as a method of keeping track of employees’ spending, travel, expenses, etc. We were anticipating launching a product soon, but had a lot of snags along the way and were delayed. So we had Concur all ready to go for a sales force we still haven’t hired. Now we just use it for the occasional reimbursement of random employee expenses.
  • Easy to load receipts.
  • Easily calculates mileage.
  • Great for big companies managing lots of employee travel and expenses.
  • For the occasional user, it can be a complicated process overall.
  • I’ve had a lot of problems lately accessing expense reports.
  • One of our employees had been submitting reports for a year, but only her immediate supervisor was getting them. When we finally figured out how to access them, I just wanted to print a summary, a one page report, but had to print each report individually. So time consuming!
  • Probably I just need more training, but from an ROI perspective, Concur just isn’t worth it for our little company.
Concur is the only formal expense management product I’ve used.
As mentioned earlier, it really hasn’t, which is partly due to the fact that we didn’t have the growth we expected.
For a couple employees who had regular travel expenses it worked really well. But for the occasional user with one or two receipts per month to submit, it is more than we need.
Great for larger companies, but clunky for smaller companies. It would be like buying a fancy riding lawnmower to mow a tiny backyard.
