Overall Satisfaction with Concur Travel and Expense

When I was at Checkmarx, there was a lot of traveling going on, so everyone would use Concur Travel and Expense as they went on their business trips. It helped out a lot to organize your various trips and to create and submit expense reports. The mobile app made it available at almost any time.
  • Organization of all your trips
  • Easy to submit receipts for expense reports
  • Comes with TripIt Pro
  • Creation of trips via email
  • Auto-entering of text from receipt pictures is sometimes incorrect
  • Exchange rates seemed like they were a little off
  • Can receive duplicate information from airline
  • Expense reports are faster to create and submit
  • Harder to miss flights because of mobile notifications
  • Airport layout views save time
I don't know of any integrations that were done at the company level. The software allows for trip submission through email and came with TripIt Pro. It would also let you enter frequent flyer information.
The airport layouts were a nice touch that I thought was a bonus, and the notifications were really helpful to keep up with my itinerary. I had a flight change in the early morning and was able to stay on track so as not to miss my flight. Some of these features may have been in TripIt Pro, as it is hard to distinguish, but you get access to that as well.
The benefit is an easier way to keep up with expenses and submit a report for reimbursement. With all the rules around, for example, how much you can expense per meal and the types of receipts you are required to have, it is definitely nice to have a piece of software to help. This way you can concentrate more on the business trip at hand.
It is well suited for keeping up with your travel expenses while on the go, as you can snap pictures of receipts. This is much easier than in the past where I have had to keep track of paper receipts and scan them in. Also better than taking your own pictures and sorting through them later.
