Overall Satisfaction with Conductor Searchlight
Conductor is currently used by mostly the digital marketing department to help us keep track of our keyword rankings and gain insights on where improvements are needed.
- Keyword ranking monitoring.
- Competitive analysis for keyword rankings.
- Customer service.
- Conductor API since some of the data that is received is hard to parse.
- If you use the system with geo-TLDs and have a lot of keyword crossover between regions, the keyword setup can be confusing.
- Conductor has helped us to understand the impact SEO has on top of funnel traffic.
- It has also helped us to see competitors and understand that business competitors are not always the same as the SEO competitors. It's important to know this since we too often thing about the business competitor but if are being outranked by other SEO competitors, it's important to analyze the SEO competitors.
We use the API to pull keyword rankings by domain that's tracked in the system. This allows us to take the data and aggregate or calculate other complex business formulas to gain deep insights on how SEO impacts the business.
The system is mostly used by digital marketing. We haven't ventured out to include more departments. I'm not sure if that's due to lack of adoption, lack of interest or if other users are generally unaware that they have this tool available to them.
We use the explorer, keyword ranking monitor and competitive analysis to build out our SEO strategy. These data points gives us an idea of how we're doing with our target keywords and see how the competitors are doing with these words as well. If we are not doing very well, we'll know who is outranking us which gives us the opportunity to learn from them and improve our own efforts.
I haven't looked at other similar products in a long time. Conductor does nearly 85+% of the things we need. There are some improvements we'd like to see happen but nothing is glaring enough to make us seek other platforms.
