Overall Satisfaction with CrashPlan
CrashPlan is being used by the entire organization. It addresses a need we had to ensure we had internet-based/cloud backup to eliminate the reliance we previously had on a VPN. It allows the company to safeguard data in a central [location] as the company is highly mobile and connects less and less via VPN as time goes on.
Pros
- Constant backup. Backups are scheduled to run every 15 minutes.
- Very WAN/Internet friendly. Only those bits and pieces of changed files are backed up instead of the whole thing.
- Backs up over the internet. No VPN is required.
- The company, all the way from senior leadership to support is phenomenal!
Cons
- Reporting could use some help.
- Faster and more accurate data restores has lead to increased productivity.
- Customers are much more happy with IT as CrashPlan is much more self-service oriented than the prior solution.
- Loss of data has been reduced drastically.
Cost, ease of use, and the overall attentiveness of Code42 to our needs made CrashPlan the clear choice.
