Overall Satisfaction with Dashlane Password Manager

At this time, we leverage Dashlane to manage the passwords used by the IT department, individually and shared among the team. It has made it easier to centralize all shared passwords instead of the typical spreadsheets and OneNote pages we were previously using. We also like using the built in password generator.

Pros

  • Random password generator.
  • Sharing to a user or team is very easy.
  • Mobile app works great.

Cons

  • Increase the login timeout on the browser app.
  • Definitely improves our security posture.
  • Effective use of time as we don't have to search everywhere for a password - we know it lives in Dashlane.
  • Mobile, on-the-go access.
I have used other software at previous employers. When I came to my current employer, I was looking for something new to implement. I knew of Dashlane for a long time, but after watching NetworkChuck on YouTube give so much love for it, and seeing the trial and ease of use myself, I decided that's what we wanted to use.
As previously mentioned, NetworkChuck on YouTube played a big part in my final decision. The security concerns of what I used at previous employers (LastPass) left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Team password sharing is one of the biggest use cases. I'm also an advocate for using Dashlane instead of a browser's built-in password manager, as it makes it universally available across all browsers, not just one specific one. People are also tired of having to come up with new passwords, so having the integrated password generator helps with that.
