Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use DigitalOcean to host client websites, run marketing tools, and scale our services efficiently. Also, Droplets allows me to deploy reliable servers quickly, and managed databases help organize and store all of our campaign data. I recently started using Spaces to store media assets and backups of all the media generated for our clients. With DigitalOcean’s straightforward pricing, I can easily manage costs while delivering high-quality digital solutions to our clients.

Pros

We are storing all media assets for our clients.
Manage databases to generate reports and statistics for our campaigns.
Really simple to deploy Droplets.

Cons

It's a little bit better control panel, but maybe I'm just picky.
There are more options on GPU droplets, maybe AMD ones.
Better backup prices.

Return on Investment

DigitalOcean’s straightforward pricing has helped me manage infrastructure costs effectively.
The ease of spinning up servers and launching websites has reduced development time, and that makes our clients happy.
Scalability allows me to quickly expand services and handle more clients without significant additional investment.

Usability

It is really simple to use (maybe too simple), the pricing is crystal-clear, the offer generally is really good, it is really easy to understand for a novice administrator, and it doesn't have any hidden costs when adding new services. I personally am really picky about how some products and services show to the end users, but DigitalOcean makes me think that I'm just weird.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

I chose DigitalOcean over Oracle Cloud because it's simpler, more cost-effective, and quicker to deploy. DigitalOcean’s intuitive interface allows me to manage servers easily, while Oracle Cloud is more complex and suited for larger enterprises. Also, DigitalOcean’s transparent pricing helps control costs, unlike Oracle’s more intricate and complex pricing model.

DigitalOcean is perfect for hosting client websites, running marketing tools, and managing media storage with Spaces and CDN. The use of Droplets to quickly launch landing pages or WordPress sites for campaigns is a Godsend. It’s great for fast, cheap, and scalable solutions. But for complex microservices or projects needing strict compliance (like HIPAA), DigitalOcean may not always be the best fit, but that depends heavily on your project.
