AutoCAD equivalent for mere motrals!

Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

I use Draftsight as and individual user. I have access to AutoCAD at work, but have purchased Draftsight Professional to be able to work on designs at home.

Pros

  • Affordable
  • Straight forward interface
  • Access to DWG/DXF file formats

Cons

  • User interface seems over sized compared to AutoCAD. Drawing area seems smaller.
  • Positive - allows access to files without having AutoCAD available off site.
  • Negative - None
I find Drafsight the equivalent to AutoCAD and a much more affordable solution for the individual user.
For individuals needing CAD access to a AutoCAD level, I prefer Draftsight due to the lower price tag and all the same features.
