Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

We use DraftSight to create flat pattern layouts to cut on our laser.

Pros

  • It's easy to use.
  • Interface is customizable.
  • Price is reasonable.

Cons

  • I would like to see it interact with inventor files better, but that is more of an inventor issue.

  • lets Non CAD people open and edit files
We are able to have non-CAD users be able to use the basic features. Some experienced users would like a couple extra features.
DraftSight does not have some of the features that AutoCAD has, but for most users, they aren't needed. The price difference is a major benefit in favor of DraftSight.

  • view customer CAD files
  • print customer drawings
  • batch printing drawing for creating job packets
we have been using draf tsight for a number of years, and see no reason to change.
