Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used by several office personnel for any 2D CAD tasks that cannot be performed in SOLIDWORKS.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Changing line colors.
Deleting aberrations.
Large hole patterns.

Cons

Easier to remember shortcuts.
Macros and scripting.
Changing colors is difficult to do using the keyboard only.

Return on Investment

There are essential CAD tasks that cannot be completed without it.
There are million-dollar projects that cannot be completed without it.
It saves time and money compared with AutoCAD.

Alternatives Considered

AutoCAD

AutoCAD takes a lot longer to load, and is much less intuitive to pick up. It does, however, have much better Google presence for searching questions.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would use SOLIDWORKS for everything it can possibly do, and only use DraftSight for tasks that are impossible with SOLIDWORKS.
