Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

It is being used by several office personnel for any 2D CAD tasks that cannot be performed in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Changing line colors.
  • Deleting aberrations.
  • Large hole patterns.
  • Easier to remember shortcuts.
  • Macros and scripting.
  • Changing colors is difficult to do using the keyboard only.
  • There are essential CAD tasks that cannot be completed without it.
  • There are million-dollar projects that cannot be completed without it.
  • It saves time and money compared with AutoCAD.
AutoCAD takes a lot longer to load, and is much less intuitive to pick up. It does, however, have much better Google presence for searching questions.
I would use SOLIDWORKS for everything it can possibly do, and only use DraftSight for tasks that are impossible with SOLIDWORKS.
