Robust and Fully Loaded
Overall Satisfaction with Dundas BI
We employed several BI tools when my previous department in Financial Analysis decided to revamp our data processing capabilities. We needed a system that would integrate well with the other programs that we were using as well as other vendors' systems. The reporting feature was vital as we needed our customers to generate reports on the fly as well as access their own data.
Pros
- Programming flexibility allows you to fully customize the interface as well as generate completely customizable reports
- Very user-friendly as the GUI is quite modern and self-explanatory
- API is robust and the amount of pre-programmed graphs and charts are useful for getting up and running quickly
Cons
- No predictive analysis features and so a lot of trending data must be done in a roundabout fashion.
- Almost too many features. It can be overwhelming if you don't have programming or coding capabilities.
We were comparing Dundas BI against several other programs and eventually decided to go with Oracle as we were already using a host of their other products. Dundas was just as robust, we were just using more Oracle products and they all fit together very smoothly.
