Overall Satisfaction with Dynatrace

We use it to fine tune the new features in lower environments before pushing to Production. It also helps in monitoring apps performance in Production and get alerts when not in good shape

Pros

  • Ability to drill down service calls
  • Trend report on a services performance over time
  • Ability to share the analysis reports for team's further analysis

Cons

  • Navigation through the dashboard has a painful learning curve
  • Data retention is limited to 2~3 weeks
  • Overview of the entire tech echo system of your enterprise applicaiton
  • Purepaths provide ability to drill down through different app layers to find the actual cause of degradation.
Works well to fine tune the application and the new features efficiency before go live.
Analysis time is shorter. Helps keep track of the infrastructure provisioned across different environments. Helps us to find if any Old systems are over due for retirement. This helped us save major cost on the cloud infrastructure cost.
New Relic was mostly like readonly dashboard and restricted how we slice and dice the data presented to us. Ability to drill down was seriously limited.

Application performance measurement is the super x-ray tool that will help in tracking and finding the root cause of any degradation or failures in your tech stack. Trending reports are a bonus to keep track of the app health over time and impact of recent updates pushed on to them.
