Overall Satisfaction with Epicor Prophet 21

We are using Prophet 21 across the whole organisation; it's one ERP system that gives a solution to all the company requirements and has all the required modules.

It's very vast and there is so much to learn I would say we only using 50% of what is available in there.

Pros

  • We can log every customer correspondence and anyone can see anytime which reduces the dependency on personnel.
  • Detailed reporting feature which allows you to pull out different useful reports.
  • Easy to learn and work.

Cons

  • More transferability, with more drill down techniques especially in accounting.
  • Better and systematic rebate functionality.
  • Easy alert setups on different things to remember.

Yes P21 is purely based to meet the specific needs of distributors with a broad range of capabilities including order management, inventory, and purchasing management, warehousing, and accounting/financials.

Best is order management which has all the features required for a distributor and other modules as well.

Yes - 

It was prior to when I joined this organisation, so not sure how exactly easy the implementation was and what the product that was used prior to this was.

But I have been a part of when we did the conversion and it was good. We were able to fetch all the data required.

We changed it to have one product for all business requirements.

Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - 

Management always plays a big part in the implementation process and it was dealt accordingly.

  • Gives clarity to measure the return on investment
  • Different modules help to integrate all the process together which gives more transparency
It covers all the modules in 1 system and is easy to integrate the process rather than the other products.

I would like to say P21 is very good at customer service or CRM part. And I will be recommending others as well to use P21 for the customer service part. Stock maintenance and warehouse options with the consignment options are also very handy.

Accounting needs improvement like more drill downs and easy to access and better reporting.
