Overall Satisfaction with EveryAction

EveryAction is the CRM of our entire organization, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and thus is used by members of the Communications team, the Development team, and various members of staff who are organizers and advocates. We use EveryAction for communication with members and supports, for newsletters and action alerts, for volunteer coordination, for event management, and for donor management.
  • EveryAction enables you to set up codes and tags so that you can easily pull a report showing all the actions a member has taken in the past.
  • EveryAction makes it easy to segment list so you can email all people on your list living in NC or you can email all the of people in a region who have taken an action supporting solar energy regardless of state/zip code.
  • EveryAction makes it easy to have people register for/sign up for an event and then contact them from the same platform afterwards as all of the information is already there.
  • EveryAction is a high performance Tesla Roadster whereas some organizations or businesses may only need a Nissan Leaf or Honda Civic. The coding can be a bit complicated, but if you take the time to set up (or contract out) good templates it's easy to plug and play for very professional results.
  • EveryAction has such a detailed dashboard it can be difficult to sometimes find what you're looking for.
  • EveryAction isn't cheap, it would be good if there was a more significant form of a price stepping for nonprofits.
  • With good templates, we do save time in creating new communication sends.
  • With fundraising & communications in a single shop, we are able to see more easily if certain types of fundraising appeals are more successful than others.
Honestly, it was several years ago, so I don't have strong feedback on the implementation and orientation to the platform, but I do remember it taking some time - multiple online training sessions that anyone on staff could register for and recorded videos to watch after the fact. I'm not clear there's a simple reference doc in a PDF to refer back to and that would help for refreshers, I'm not fond of videos when a quick skim can yield the information.
EveryAction, like every platform, has scheduled maintenance and occasional downtime, but there's never been a time that I have logged in and not had access to the tools or our system.
I don't know that we have the staff capacity to take full advantage of these features and additional training sessions, but we have seen an improvement in our fundraising in the years since we've switched over.

EveryAction is a much more powerful CRM that creates better looking products (emails, newsletters, etc.) but also requires more time to set up (create the templates) and to plug in each time (the coding is more complicated)
EveryAction is excellent for quality communications that present a consistent, branded look and allow an organization to see patterns in how a member/supporter interacts with us. However, each email send or newsletter or Take Action page does take time to set up and proof, so it's less ideal for quick communications that just need to get popped out.
