Overall Satisfaction with EveryAction

We use EveryAction for fundraising, events, bulk email, and relationship management. It's used by all departments at our organization and serves some much better than others. The system addresses a common problem: Our data was previously spread out across a dozen systems and countless spreadsheets. Now it's all in one place and we can leverage it more effectively.
  • Data unification
  • CRM functionality
  • Bulk email
  • Events/volunteer management
  • Encourages duplicate profile creation
  • Constant need to "hack" it with workarounds
  • Having all supporter interactions logged in one place is huge
  • EveryAction has caused countless headaches with our finance team
  • The fact that volunteer events cannot be capped is inexcusable
The implementation coaching was good but I often had to wait on them. I wish I had pressured them to progress faster because one day they pulled the plug without much warning and I was on my own. They did provide helpful subject matter experts who helped clarify and troubleshoot any issues.
EveryAction is pretty solid but there are quite a few minor outages. They usually shift blame to their upstream service providers–but why should I care about that? Nothing game breaking, but errors occur occasionally.
It has made it much easier to enable our supporters to submit form letters to their elected representatives. Pre-COVID we had letter writing events but now we can do them online.

Clubexpress, Wild Apricot, and Salesforce were all considered. EveryAction seemed to strike the right balance of doing what we need it to without being too bloated. Most of those other systems either had too much functionality or not enough and weren't focused on our needs.
Nonprofit fundraising, mass communication, and advocacy are EveryAction's strengths. It is less appropriate for any type of sales, new lead prospecting, and integrating with common applications like QuickBooks. EveryAction also seems to take way too many clicks to accomplish basic tasks like scheduling a followup and recording a previous contact instance.
