Overall Satisfaction with EveryAction

EveryAction is used by every program in our nonprofit political organization: our administrative staff uses it, communication team, the organizing staff uses it, as well as the development staff. As part of the organizing team I can speak best to that: we use it to track volunteers, enter contact records, recruit them for events, track event attendance, do phone and text banks, and so much more. It's integrated with the work that other staff across the organization is doing so it's all in one place. Changes are made in real time, so contact records can stay up to date. We can identify their contact history easily to choose whether to continue our work with that person and if so, how to make our conversation relevant.
  • EveryAction allows for integration of many uses so your whole team is up-to-date.
  • EveryAction allows for shared phone banks to call your volunteers, and also add new contacts with integration with public voting record data.
  • You can send bulk emails through EveryAction.
  • EveryAction could do a better job at identifying duplicates.
  • EveryAction's script function gets messed up if you make your script after creating a phone bank.
  • EveryAction doesn't have the most intuitive way to make lists.
  • Increased the ability to correctly track our numbers (event attendees, no shows, etc.) which in turn helps us report correct and up-to-date numbers at EOY, to the board, etc.
  • It definitely saves our and volunteer's time but allowing for us to know when the last time someone has been contacted, or why.
  • It's help our organization during the pandemic: we can work on the same contact lists (ex: the same phone bank) easily. That little blue bar is quite satisfying!
I wasn't a key player during the implementation of EveryAction or switching from our old way of doing this (old database) to our current one, but I have been able to see relics of the old one and how it shows up in EveryAction. Duplicates are a major issues and we are still working day to day as we work through different volunteer categories (i.e. regionally across our state) to merge duplicates. We have a million activist codes and it can be hard to narrow a list based off those because of how plentiful they are. Other categories that used to have a 'filter' in our old system now show up in the notes sections, which can be a pro/con depending on the content.
Yes, I would say 95+% of the time when I need it to work it does. Only in the past week actually have we had any issues, and we weren't sure if that's because our coms/development team was working to update certain aspects of it. Again, the script feature is messed up if you edit and add a script to a phone bank after the phone bank has already been created which creates some issues on our end.
I think EveryAction has allowed our entire organization to better communicate with our members and track this communication with them. I think it's increased our numbers overall and increased our efficiency, and has spread our outreach to more volunteers that we haven't engaged in a while. I can't speak to fundraising. We use it successfully for bulk action emails.

Do you think Bonterra Development + Digital delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Bonterra Development + Digital's feature set?

Yes

Did Bonterra Development + Digital live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Bonterra Development + Digital go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Bonterra Development + Digital again?

Yes

I wasn't involved in choosing databases for either organization and used DonorPerfect at a previous organization. EveryAction is pretty well organized and seems to have more features. I used donor perfect at a different, much smaller organization and I think EveryAction is suited for the tens of thousand or so members and amount of events and track that we do, more so than DP would be able to do. I am guessing the EA account my current organization has is more expensive than the basic DP version we had.

EveryAction is well suited for those working on campaigns and working closely with volunteers. As an organizer, I essentially use EveryAction for volunteer organization, recruitment, and management. It works really well for my position and it's a bit more difficult to speak to what it isn't quite as well suited for. It's a pretty complex database system with more functions that you might need if you're just starting to track contacts, etc. and again, works well for political organizations or those actively working on advocacy campaigns... to well, track EveryAction.
