EveryAction works for small nonprofit fundraising!

Overall Satisfaction with EveryAction

I use EveryAction as a fundraising management database. In it, I look up donor records, give history, update contribution information, create campaigns, create source codes, and direct response plans - just to name a few! I also use it to create acknowledgements for donors and track communications sent to donors.
  • Allow you to see previous and future communications for individual donors.
  • Easily lets you set up a direct mail appeal project with many segments - guaranteeing no duplicates.
  • Allows you to design emails easily with their "drag and drop" email creator. No HTML knowledge is needed!
  • Create a list can be difficult to use. It feels overly complicated.
  • Attributed gifts cannot be used for merge fields or for ask strings. It would be nice if Financial Household Contribution information also included attributed gifts.
  • Sometimes, I feel more knowledgeable about the database than the 1st point person in their customer service division.
  • Our recurring sustainers have grown greatly through our use of sustainer-giving pages in EA!
  • It saves a lot of time for both the fundraising and outreach departments, as most of the features of the database are very intuitive and not complex.
This is not applicable to me as I was not with Galapagos Conservancy when EveryAction was implemented.
I have never had EveryAction be down when I need it. I sometimes work in the middle of the night, at odd times, or even on the weekends. It always works quickly and efficiently whenever I need it.
Our fundraising efforts have grown significantly in the last years with the implementation of EveryAction and the increase of fundraising and outreach staff. Because of all of these changes, our organization has been able to implement more projects and support more projects than ever before.

Yes

I used Blackbaud at a University setting, which I believe was very appropriate. The database needed many people that were just in charge of keeping the database clean - so for a large organization, it worked well. However, for a small organization it would be far too complicated.
I think EveryAction is a great tool for small nonprofits. It is not too challenging to learn, and many people in the organization can use it for a variety of fundraising uses - including direct mail appeals, targeted email appeals, major donor prospecting, cultivation, and solicitation - just to name a few. I don't think it would be good for a larger organization as it is not as powerful of a database as I have seen being used at large university fundraising programs.
