Overall Satisfaction with Figma
I use Figma professionally to prototype and design UIs for my iOS apps. It helps a lot especially with the positioning of elements in the screen, since the distances between elements can be easily transformed into constraints, especially since the frames have presets for many devices. The new Dev tools are good but still need a lot of maturing to generate proper usable code.
I use it personally for any other thing that needs a simple edit or to prototype a vision. For example, I'm using it right now to prototype and brainstorm my own portfolio/personal website.
- Shared Work
- Simplicity but with a lot of features
- Plugin Support
- Lightweight even on browsers
- Mostly bug-free
- The developer tools code still very unusable
- Accessing a link that was invited to participate is quite hard and requires many updates
- Frame dragging could be a little bit better
- Components and Design Systems
- Distance and relantionships between elements
- Collaborative Work
- Always accessible
- Made the product better by offering quick prototyping for a feedback loop
- Made the designer have less work explaning and calculating how the final implementation is since the developers had access to the specified sizes and distances
- Plugins made things that are relatively hard to achieve by hand be consistent across all specific cases
