Use Cases and Deployment Scope

GitLab we are used in our organization as a versioning tool to manage the code repository and maintain the version of the files.

Pros and Cons

Good version control tool with easy UI features.
Clean user interface and easy navigation. I miss the cherry-pick option in UI, which doesn't have any other version control.

I don't see any issue as of now. Whatever I use is working fine.

Return on Investment

Good tool for any software developer or organization to maintain the code version.

All these tools implement the Git and version control tools. But GitHub I personally like it more because the easy options available in GitHub is not present in any other version control tool. Like cherry pick, pull request.

Security

We will use Sonar to identify the security and vulnerability of the code. Using the GitLab security feature, we could view the report where we are lacking and what we need to fix. It showcases all vulnerabilities and categories based on severity.

Continuous Integration

I haven't used the continuous integration of GitLab, but yes, this feature will be very helpful.
