Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets
Google sheets is used, frankly, as a filler for Microsoft Excel. While it generally does the job, in my opinion it lacks functionality as a whole, is clunky, and in my personal opinion, annoying to use. With Excel I'm constantly finding new things its capable of doing, while with Sheets i'm constantly finding new things it CAN'T do.
- Basic spreadsheet functionality
- Live shared editing
- Easy online access for any user
- Conditional formatting is clunky and lacking
- General formatting is either difficult to use or doesn't exist
- Formulas are more difficult to use than Excel
- Chart/graphics options are more limited
- Google sheets allowed for easy access and editing of information across buildings
- Sheets allows for easy access from mobile devices/on the go as the app is well supported
- Sheets provided a great community workspace for compliance recordkeeping
From my experience, Google sheets doesn't compare to excel. It suffices for basic spreadsheet needs but does not compare in terms of functionality. An organizational change led me to the opportunity to use Excel and I'm happy to have made the switch and have not looked back. Again, Sheets just feels limiting while Excel feels nearly limitless.
