Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets

A part of the Google suite of online applications, Google Sheets acts as a spreadsheet creation program with all of the mathematical formulas and accounting found in regular spreadsheets all with Google sharing, collaboration and integrations. We use Google Sheets for project management, checklists and inventory. It is easy to use, quick to set up and share and allows for easy color coding and formulas.

Cons

  • There are times where I prefer more finite discrete spacing, but in Google Sheets you can only eyeball approximate column and row sizes.
  • Allows all users to quickly and easily create spreadsheets
  • Allows easy collaboration and sharing of information
  • Controls are easy to use reducing any barriers to quick access and adoption.
I find it to be pretty straight forward getting started entering data, manipulating that data and then sharing. I find the menus easy to navigate and feel that most people should be able to get started using Google Sheets right away. If there are any issues that come up, I find Google Sheets to be well documented on the internet where people could quickly and easily find answers to their questions.
I have found that I can do almost everything I could have done in Microsoft Excel faster and easier in Google Sheets. We recommend Google Sheets in 99.9% of our use cases and feel it meets the needs of our workers very well. I am sure there are other spreadsheet creation programs out there, but because we are already in the Google environment, adopting Google Sheets in very easy.

As a free service, or included in paid Google Accounts, I find Google Sheets to be all most people need as far as spreadsheet creation, collaboration and sharing are concerned. I have found very little that Google Sheets can't accomplish that would be found in more expensive paid solutions. It is straight forward enough to get started immediately but robust enough to handle most all required calculations, formulas and programming.
