Overall Satisfaction with Google Sheets
Google Sheets has been instrumental for collecting, formatting, processing, and sharing data in a meaningful way. With the ease of adjusting the spreadsheet to bring information to the forefront and share it with peers, Google Sheets has been a game-changer for tracking student and teacher data over time. Allowing timed, granular access to information based on need-to-know helps us meet confidentiality requirements while also giving staff a specific location to reference information.
Pros
- Organizing data in a meaningful way
- Collecting and collating information from other sources
- Downloading information to import into different locations
Cons
- Ability to more granularly color code cells using a pattern or other overlay
- Additional editing options such as share over cells instead of merge, or adding additional formulas from the dropdown menus instead of having to Google them
- When an error shows, give a link to assist in fixing the error. I see the error, but cannot figure out how to fix said error based on the information given.
- Allows for the dissemination of information with time-stamped access documentation
- Maintains student confidentiality while still allowing access to information as needed
- Prevents old information from circulating as everyone involved is working off of the latest data
