Overall Satisfaction with Gumlet

I am using Gumlet for a few different projects. I own 2 gyms and I host all of our technique videos and recorded classes here. I integrate those with a Wordpress database so you can search and find the movements you're looking for. I also have online course content hosted here for coach training modules as well as other online webinar and workshops I've done. We've used Vimeo in the past but run into walls with our membership and overall, I enjoy the Gumlet interface more. Feels cleaner and easier to find what you're looking for. I also LOVE that they have a migration tool built.

Pros

  • Migration from other services (Vimeo)
  • Clean and easy to use interface
  • Customizing your channels
  • Organizing videos
  • Setting permissions etc

Cons

  • A tour when you first login (although the tours when you're working with videos are really helpful). Maybe a checklist to get started?
  • More customization of your profile (or users)
  • I am going to save hundreds over the next few years
  • I can get things done quicker inside of Gumlet. Once I upload videos they are faster to set up.
  • I will have access to more features than I did with a competitor.
The dashboard is simple to navigate. It's easy to view my videos and organize them. It just makes sense. I don't have to guess where to find anything. I also love the import tool and the ability to set up players based on my collections. This type of customization will save me time!
Honestly, the LTD was a no-brainer for me. I hate to say price point but it is a consideration. But the features have to match what I need and the product still needs to feel like an amazing product. Gumlet has all that. I also choose Gumlet because there was a migration tool. I don't have time to manually upload and edit over 400 videos so this was a big request for me.

Gumlet would be a great product for anyone looking for video hosting. This includes people doing things like I am, storing videos to embed on your site or for use in online courses. It might be less appropriate if you were looking for a built in community where people could find you. Something like YouTube is better for that type of discovery. A note here that I like the Gumlet isn't that type of tool YouTube has it's purpose but for things like this, you want the option for privacy.
