Overall Satisfaction with Handshake Talent Engagement Suite

We primarily utilize Handshake Talent Engagement Suite for our summer internship recruiting, but have also used it to increase brand awareness through hosting events and attending career fairs. This has helped us target specific audiences focused on certain skillsets and diverse groups for roles that are difficult to fill or are traditionally less diverse. We have also been able to connect with over 1,300 schools, many of which we never would have gotten in contact with had it not been for Handshake Talent Engagement Suite.

  • School connections that allow building tons of school relationships across the country
  • Customizable campaign messaging that allows you to reach a wide variety of students
  • I would love if there were a better way to filter by experience. Currently, it's based on graduation date but a lot of my talent segments pick up people with 10+ years of experience that recently started or completed another degree. This is frustrating for the candidate who receives a bunch of misplaced messages and for recruiters who have to explain why they received a message about an internship they are clearly overqualified for. Can we separate grad year from years of experience in the segmentation somehow?
  • I wish there were an easier way to "blacklist" candidates who were rude or expressed a sentiment of never wanting to hear from me or my company again. These are people that I don't want to accidentally include in a campaign message 6 months later.
  • Summer internship recruiting for hard to fill roles has grown to be much easier. Without Handshake Talent Engagement Suite, we would be left scrambling to specific school job boards.
  • Hosting a simple one-hour informative event and reaching a large audience has helped with brand awareness. We don't necessarily see immediate obvious results but have been content with our ability to connect with underclassmen, getting them excited to apply for internships in a year or two.
  • Creating a talent segment and sending campaign messages is much more efficient and effective than reaching out to individual candidates with cold calls/emails.
I have reached out to customer support only once or twice, but they got back to me quickly and were transparent about timeline and what they knew/didn't know. We are often satisfied receiving help/advice from our monthly calls with Handshake Talent Engagement Suite so contacting support beyond that is rarely necessary.
Our company uses hireEZ and LinkedIn Recruiter as well, but Handshake Talent Engagement Suite makes the most sense for our University Relations team due to the focus on college students and recent grads. hireEZ is the opposite and isn't very effective at targeting college students.

It is very well-suited for internship or early-in-career hiring/raising brand awareness. While it may not be the primary focus, there is certainly room for improvement to become more friendly to experienced professionals as well.
