Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Schoox is being used as the main training tool in our restaurants. It is used across all departments and job roles (except administrative and director levels) in the restaurants. The main business problem that it addresses is the difficulty of consistent training as an organization is growing. We believe consistent training is the only way for a business to not lose it's "soul".

Pros and Cons

Pros

The ability to maintain a streamlined message
integration with hotschedules, specifically with importing and managing users based on job codes
Automated features for getting information to new hires and new roles

Cons

Clunky interface, not as intuitive as other competitors
Curricula and courses differentiation is often confusing to new users
Strange conversion of certain PDFs
We'd love to see the ability to customize our academy a bit more to make it more on brand

Alternatives Considered

Wisetail LMS

We did not use Wisetail, but we went through several weeks of training calls when we were deciding between that LMS and Schoox. We selected Schoox because of the integration with HotSchedules, something we already used, and the ongoing ease it would provide in shifting job codes and new roles within the organization.

Likelihood to Recommend

Schoox is very well suited for a growing company. The main benefit of Schoox is the ability to get a more consistent messaging out to new hires, new roles, and continuing training for employees.

I don't believe that Schoox would be well suited for a smaller company because 1) the cost/price associated 2) with a smaller team keeping the message consistent is much easier

Usability

I rate it at a 7 because I think first and foremost the value outweighs any of the improvements I'd like to see. Consistency in message is king.

I feel as though the verbiage used is often confusing, the interface could be more intuitive and the academy should be able to be more customizable for the brand.

Mobile Interface Availability and Impressions

Yes - The Schoox mobile app is a great feature to have, but one that often is riddled with issues. Freezing is a big issue and videos and large documents often take an exceptionally long time to load. However, when it does work, our employees like the option of using their own phones.

Hi, If you weren't already using Hotschedules, would you have chosen Wisetail? I am currently deciding between them and don't use Hotschedules Scheduling.
