Long time File Transfer SME, experience with Aspera on Cloud
Overall Satisfaction with IBM Aspera on Cloud
We use IBM Aspera On Cloud for one of our divisions. All others are
still using legacy Aspera applications (Faspex, Shares, Console,
Orchestrator) and Signiant's. The division using AoC is primarely
because of the "Workspace" feature. This is letting us segment different
workflows while not granting access to administrators and managers to
more than what they need to access.

Pros
- Segmenting workflows with the workspace feature
- User friendly modern interface
- Better than the competition for many features
Cons
- The Files App needs to have the Search through sub folders features
- Transfer Nodes management could be simplified
- Console (Activity) application needs to have a lot more features (like Aspera Console)
- Automation application needs to have Aspera Orchestrator intergrated totally
- Improving administrators features. (SMTP relay tracking, notifications on failures, etc)
- The workspace feature. Permitting us to satisfy access control and security of certain customers. No more "yellow flags" on audits. Division A doesn't have to see all the accounts, shared inbox and workgroups of Team B. Easier and faster to find their items.
- No worry about overage of costs like with the main competition. One factor, amount of Petabytes transferred per year. Easy to track. No "connectors", "agents", user licenses, etc.
IBM Aspera always surpassed the competition in terms of features and admin/user friendliness. The cost per Gibabyte is the best, with a very simple cost structure. One element : Total amount of data transferred. Coming from a company that has been one of the first 5 customers of Aspera in 2005, I have seen all of Aspera's evolution. AoC has the best features and was the obvious choice because of our staff's experience with Aspera applications. AoC is identical to Faspex, except for the more modern GUI.
