Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Code Engine

I used it to deploy a full stack app to manage IoT devices connected to the cloud using Mongo DB. After a while the solution was replaced for a corporate solution using a competitor and the test was concluded. It is just like any other cloud service. It has the IBM behind it but unless we have something to differentiate, price is what will be the main focus.
  • Mimic Docker
  • Control requests
  • Scalability
  • MongoDB integration
  • Become a 3-click product
  • Webinars in bootcamps and fairs
  • Get in touch with the tech community to present the product
  • Invite coders to events
  • Add AI
  • Setup is time consuming
  • The learning curve is steep - there are not many examples
I'm specialized in Firebase and know AWS enough to get by. I just gave up on Azure. Although it is the second best, no one knows or uses it that much. In my opinion, IBM Cloud Code Engine wants to be cool like AWS and fast like Firebase, but it is so stiff and so bureaucratic that people just go with the flow and deploy to mainstream platforms. I feel that if they can build a platform that mimics Docker they should invest more and make it a 3-click deployment. From my experience, the product videos feel so scripted that people come across like actors, not real programmers. To reach the coolness of Google or Amazon, I feel that IBM should invest a lot in free webinars, get into the tech communities, and appear in events. Additionally, I think they should get in contact with boot camps. IBM could give them a one-week free experience, show the students how to deploy to the platform, talk to them, and maybe offer to sponsor an event at the school. Almost every month Google has an event to show or sell its Cloud products. I've always admired IBM, but in my opinion, if they don't keep up with the times then coders will not choose to use their products.
I've tried to deploy, learn, and feel comfortable with IBM Cloud Code Engine but I feel that it is just not as easy as other products. For those coming in without any training, the documentation is hard to read. Instead of going through it via videos, showing possible mistakes, it is just page after page.
If IBM wants to get ahead, it needs to add AI and make it seamless on the project configuration, real time chat with AI will help developers to increase speed and have less problems integrating the code into their business logic. There's no marketing using influencers, YT code developers, Firebase and AWS are dominating YT and that's the main place for developers to go and learn. Azure classes given by MS are boring. Make use of great coders on YT and you can get some advantage. For now, if you make any poll people will answer Firebase, AWS and Azure. And let's be honest, IBM CLOUD CODE ENGINE is a mouthful.

Do you think IBM Cloud Code Engine delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with IBM Cloud Code Engine's feature set?

No

Did IBM Cloud Code Engine live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM Cloud Code Engine go as expected?

No

Would you buy IBM Cloud Code Engine again?

No

Every coder has the intention to create an application that becomes bigger and has more users. The problem is scalability. IBM Cloud Code Engine makes it easier to grow. However, integrating your app with several other applications can be a hassle, and connecting them, especially those that are in another platform like GC/AWS/Azure, might prove to be challenging.
Updated: Now we are looking for AI enhancement. The first one to have it will dominate the market.
