Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Virtual Servers

The technology department is using it and it's being used to run 24/7 education-related server software and it solves cost of electricity maintenance and runtime errors.
  • Cheaper than AWS and GCP
  • Chat support is excellent.
  • Provide trial and startup credits
  • Boot images are well deployed.
  • Easy login and restart VMs
  • Faced internet disconnection errors more than ever imagined
  • Even tested Azure AWS and GCP but never faced internet disconnectivity once but it happened 5 times on IBM.
  • Bandwidth cost is high.
  • Made profit
  • Tried windows image-based VM first but failed
  • Switched to Debian-based VMs and had success
It helped us start within a tight budget.
Tried GPU V100 instances but my experience was bad. Malfunctioning VMs were provided. Now I run only one Debian-based VM.
Dedicated hosts are very expensive so we could only use shared auto-assign.
  • IBM Cloud Virtual Servers
Our experience was bad as GPU instances were too slow and malfunctioning. Still I got charged for them.
IBM Cloud Virtual Servers are well suited for startups and budget-conscious companies but less appropriate for work related to 100% internet connectivity time in Windows image-based virtual servers.
