Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Virtual Servers

Our goal was to create SAP HANA DB on a Power Virtual Server instance on IBM Cloud to demonstrate to customers that SAP HANA on Power Virtual Server has an advantage because the machine is much more performant than competitors' offerings.

Pros

  • Performance
  • Easy to create
  • Super fast Internet connection

Cons

  • In some location the are not free machines
  • In some locations will generate error during the creation
  • Only IBM has so powerful machine
  • It is expensive but the performance is extremely high
IBM Power Virtual server offers machines certified by SAP. This means that SAP HANA runs perfectly without bottlenecks due to underpowered hardware.
If you need a super-performing machine then IBM Power Virtual Server is the best choice. But of course, nothing is free and the price will be very expensive. You need to really know what do you need in advance or you going to pay a lot of money. They offer also the possibility to have a development machine (with low memory) at reduced prices.
