Overall Satisfaction with IBM webMethods

IBM webMethods is in use to support and fasten the integrations leveraging on APIs. The product enables to decouple applications, abstracting the connection pattern (avoiding the 1:1, spaghetti architecture) and to link also heterogenoeus environments (e.g. on-pre- and cloud). All of these, supporting scalability and change in volumes

Pros

  • complex integrations in heterogeneous enviroments
  • Scalability: handling of high volume of data

Cons

  • learning curve can be long due to the number of features and the administration features
  • after the initial setup and becoming accustomed to the available features, IBM webMethods become the cornerstone of the integrations. allowing to speed up this critical area
particularly valuable in IBM webMethods are the features, recently improved, related to the native cloud support through Kubernetes and Dockers
Before IBM webMethods we were not leveraging any enterprise level integration platform. Comprehensive monitoring and security, fast and flexible integrations, were then introducted by leveraging the solution
IBM webMethods was selected vs WSo2 for the reachness of the correspondign features
regarding Mulesoft, the flexibility of IBM webMethods compared to the other platform, in relation to the existing architectural landscape was preferred

B2B and complex integrations scenarios. Especially in corporate, well regulated markets

Less appropriate
simple architecturale landscapes with light needs of monitoring and limited number of data to be exchanged. The overhead coming from the learning curve and powerfullness of the solution (and the connected sourcing) negatively impact the advantages of using the platform
