Overall Satisfaction with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine)
Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is a great tool for inventory management. We utilize CPQ for configuring jobs which works well for our product line that is modular in nature. One of the best features is the ability to download to and upload from Excel for mass editing. Overall it is a good ERP system for small to medium sized businesses.
Pros
- Ability to download to and upload from Excel for mass editing
- Inventory Management and Engineering BOM control
- CPQ is a great add-on module for modular products
Cons
- The biggest issue I have with Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is that the customizations of our forms makes it expensive to uplift regularly, due to the cost of our partner having to evaluate those customizations to see if they will be affected by each uplift. I wish there were more patches offered for fixes of bugs vs. just rolling it into the newest version.
- We have had several tickets for issues where reversing transactions (unshipping/returning primarily) causes mix-ups in serial and lot numbers, which we think is related to temporary records in the SQL database. More development work needs to be done here to prevent these issues when a transaction is reversed.
- The pick-pack-ship functionality is cumbersome for our business. We are currently using Sureship as a 3rd party software workaround, but we don't love it. I wish the base functionality was more efficient for our type of make to order operation.
- There is no easy way to reverse job material transactions on a job - there should be some sort of "undo" button to "unissue" parts vs. having to type them in manually. We also see errors when we do type them in if there is a material that is listed more than once in the pick list (in multiple phantom sub-assemblies). The negative transaction gets messed up even if the sequence number is used.
- APS planning allows us to reduce the number of "out of parts" situations, especially when combined with use of the exceptions reporting.
- CPQ configuration tool has saved hours of BOM creation and order entry.
In our experience, Infor CloudSuite Industrial (SyteLine) is more flexible/easier to customize than SAP.
