Overall Satisfaction with InVision Freehand

I utilize InVision Freehand for several use cases including - client presentations - whiteboarding sessions (internal and external) - project planning - design critiques Freehand has been instrumental in collaborating with our design team remotely. We are able to scribble ideas and quickly ideate and drop-in design files to display for feedback. I've also used it in client sessions to whiteboard ideas and found the tool was relatively simple for clients, who don't typically use these tools, to quickly get the hang of.

  • Guest access is possible, but I find I need to describe to our clients where to click "join as a guest". Moving the placement of this button would help

  • + = archive ability easily reference old discussions, designs
  • - = sometimes hard to find past Freehand board due to how it is displayed in the InVision dashboard. Need more tagging, and visual cues to find old work
I find the sketching ability a lot easier on InVision Freehand. I find I can move faster and get my ideas across clearer. FigJam offers too many small line options. I often waste time trying to customize my pencil to sketch. In InVision Freehand, it's the perfect balance of boldness so my sketches are clearly seen as quick ideas to get my point across.

InVision Freehand is well suited for whiteboarding, design critiques, and ideation sessions It isn't as well suited for project planning (example: scrum board) due to the widget capability.
