Overall Satisfaction with iSpring Suite

We used a company to make our coursework, this was expensive and costs for updates. We now use Powerpoint and then convert to SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) for using in OneFile VLE. The coursework is then followed by self marking assessments which is then rolled out through our system or available for download and use on a standalone machine.

Pros

  • Converting PowerPoint to SCORM
  • Add additional functionality to coursework
  • Easy to make assessments
  • Self marking assessments
  • Lots of premade content

Cons

  • We find it difficult to get reports run on assessment
  • When using video on slides, it can stutter a bit
  • Would like to have the a more vertical slideshow that is easy to make - this seems to be the new way of delivery
  • We save money not paying for consultants
  • The cost is relatively small for the saving
  • Really started saving and had a ROI early in the change to iSpring Suite
You really cannot go wrong if you know how to use a computer and are familiar with office products. There are advanced feature but out the box if you have coursework on Powerpoint you will be able to convert to SCORM for use in Moodle or some other VLE. There are also a host of pre formatted templates to use and content library
I found this software more difficult to use, and had a steep learning curve, where I did not find this with iSpring Suite. Honestly could not believe how easy it was to use and get going. Support was great to get going with lots of webinars to watch for each type of content you wish to make.

We honestly would be lost without iSpring Suite. It is easy to use, basically if you know how to use office you will be able to use iSpring Suite. The software also offers more advanced features if you play with the software or attend the webinars (which are really helpful and done in a friendly way).
