Overall Satisfaction with Jamf Pro

Jamf Pro is used to manage Apple devices across the whole organisation and is used to streamline our onboarding and ensure compliance with the technical controls required by our company.

Pros

  • Automated user enrollment
  • Enforcing security policies
  • Patching third party software

Cons

  • Jamf Protect, a related product, was not available globally last time I checked
  • Zero touch laptop enrollments saving half a day per laptop setup time
  • Technical controls on Apple devices in place and easily auditable
Jamf Pro was the most feature complete and cost effective device management solution at the time we conducted our review.

Any company where there are enough devices to start using Jamf Pro licensing-wise has good reason to require an MDM for their Apple devices to ensure compliance with modern data handling laws. Companies with less devices should consider more appropriately sized MDM solutions; for example, Jamf Now.
Where companies have a complicated or lengthy laptop setup process Jamf Pro is indispensable as practically everything can be automated in a repeatable manner.
