Overall Satisfaction with Jira Software
We use Jira Software mainly for our Engineering department, this includes Software engineers, Dev Ops, IT, and DBAs. We use Jira Software as our main Agile software development process software tool. We use it to track projects end to end, from writing the initial idea to the point that is deployed in Prod. Jira is being used to ensure that our development process is flowing through an Agile framework and it helps to have a clear view of the project's timelines.
Pros
- Projects progress tracking.
- Tracking teams performance.
- well defined and easy to use tool.
- friendly and highly customizable.
Cons
- Creating custom reports could be complicated for non-technical people.
- Really basic add-ons shouldn't cost.
- Query requires dev language knowledge.
- To have a tool where developers can find user stories, requirements, and documentation.
- It is very user friendly, it's very easy to start creating components inside Jira.
- It provides a lot of different metrics, from project metrics to teams metrics to individuals.
- Jira helped us having a strong Agile framework.
- Improved all projects status visibility.
- Gave us a way to measure ourselves.
- Azure DevOps Services (formerly VSTS)
From my point of view, the biggest difference between Jira Software and Azure DevOps Services is that Jira is way easier to use, Azure DevOps is not that friendly user, you need to do a lot of research to modify Azure boards or to move things around. Making changes in Jira is really simple, you do not need to hit Save and Close every time you do a change.
