Overall Satisfaction with Joomla!

Joomla! was used on a case-by-case basis by my previous employer. Our other alternative was WordPress. It was used across the whole organization. We eventually moved to developing only WordPress sites because it seemed more user friendly than Joomla!.

  • We were able to turn out websites fairly fast with Joomla! - within a month or so.
WordPress and Joomla! are fairly comparable however WordPress is a lot better for blogging websites. We've also used WordPress for e-commerce and it's very easy to implement. Joomla! has its merits with larger website development projects though. There are a lot of templates and themes available for both which is awesome.
I have moved to a new company where they use only WordPress for their CMS.
I would recommend Joomla! for websites that aren't blog-heavy. It's great for large websites, as well. Joomla! is a very powerful system with lots of great extensions and a really easy to use admin system.
