Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Kendo UI is used by our software development team to enable rich controls in our own web-based products. They develop faster and have nice looking controls with a very good usability. The supplied themes and the theme builder are an added plus for us.

Pros and Cons

All controls are of a piece with same look & feel and user experience.
Documentation and support are quite good.
Many controls available which are rare like graphs and Gantt.
A very powerful grid with completely customizable data sources.

Requires jQuery as dependency.
New components sometimes lack features you are used to from other controls.

Return on Investment

With Kendo UI our products go faster to market and provide a very suiting usability with less work.

Alternatives Considered

DevExpress

More features, controls and better theming.

Other Software Used

Visual Studio IDE, Team Foundation Server, Slack

Likelihood to Recommend

For rich web clients with their own controls it is perfect. This also fits electron-hosted apps.
If you want a native look on mobile devices Kendo UI is not the way to go.
