Overall Satisfaction with Lansweeper

Lansweeper is great took for asset management, we use it to track our laptops, desktops, phones and tablets and it works great with our ITSM and InTune. It makes asset tracking and management much easier. It helps us determine which laptops are not being used, track the major updates and unregistered software.

Pros

  • Its very accurate
  • Easy to use
  • easy to integrate with other relevant software

Cons

  • Their asset comments section is not indexable - if you leave a comment on certain assets you cant search for it - you have to open the asset properties and read the comment
  • The price could be lower
  • Sometimes you get false positives where drivers show as unlicensed software
  • Its not easy to quantify but it helps a lot in day to day IT asset management
  • Probably helped us avoid potential security issues by showing what needs updating/patching or removing from the network
  • Probably saved us money by forcing the managers to return devices that are not in use more promptly
Its a great tool, not perfect but it does the job. I would recommend it to any larger organisation. It is not cheap but can be used to save money by improving your asset and software tracking and to mitigate potential security risks. If it was more affordable and consistent with price for contract extensions I would give it a 9.5 for sure.
In short it has more features and its a more robust solution and it works well with those solutions. I am sure it will keep track with Ai and action recommendations in the future as I didnt see any of it on the platform (at least the one we use) I thin that is the only thing that is missing in the current product.

Its very useful for large organisations, over 2000 laptops , phones and tablets and it can also be used for servers, VM's firewalls, office equipment etc. It can help a lot of managing updates and security patching as well as just knowing what is being used on your network and what is not. For smaller organisations it probably more feasible to get some all0in-one product with remote access and other features.
