Overall Satisfaction with Lattice
We used Lattice for OKR tracking and also 1:1s with individual contributors, management, and senior leadership. We no longer use the OKR tracking function because of the limitations Lattice has that can be easily overcome by just using spreadsheet software. Most of the people I have 1:1 meetings with have complaints about the functionality of Lattice.
Pros
- Tracking discussion items in 1:1 meetings
- Tracking action items in 1:1 meetings
- Tracking due dates for action items in 1:1 meetings
Cons
- There's no ability to search through old 1:1 meeting notes aside from manually going through each one
- Everything that's completed in the past is basically gone. There's no easy way to go back and see how your team has grown
- You can only add notes for the next 1:1 meeting, you can't make a note for something further in the future. You have to make an action item for that
- individual contributors are frustrated with the system
- 1:1s regularly start with complaints about Lattice
- The tool has become a distraction from people's professional development
Lattice is not as good as these tools. We originally used it to integrate 1:1s with OKR tracking, but that's no longer the case. A lot of the benefits of using Lattice don't matter anymore, now that we're not tracking OKRs in it. We've moved our OKR tracking to Google Sheets
