Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

While running on a test basis, I feel that both the sales team and implementation team didn't take the time to understand if their solution was really the right one for what we needed. Ultimately, we started using the platform without the necessary training and failed to meet our meeting objectives because of the poor set up and lack of audio quality, which was one of our biggest needs.
We utilized Lifesize for a short period last year as a new conferencing system for our agency. We were hoping our marketing services team would be able to take advantage of the audio conferencing system to make our weekly client calls easier to log on to for all attendees and easier to run. Unfortunately, we found the audio quality to be poor and weren't able to utilize Lifesize the way we had wanted to.

Pros

  • Video conferencing. This is definitely the main area of the tool that people utilize and get the most value out of.
  • Toolset. To get the most out of Lifesize and really change the way you communicate with people remotely, utilizing the impressive tool set of the camera and phone is definitely a must.
  • Collaboration. The platform allows for a couple of cool collaboration features that make it easier to move forward with items that normally would need to be covered in person.

Cons

  • Audio quality. We experienced major issues with voice quality and feedback on our calls.
  • Sharing invites isn't the easiest which is an industry problem.
Lifesize is great for companies and teams that are broken up across multiple locations but still require face to face communication in order to move projects forward. Requiring a larger amount of investment in technology, this is really for larger organizations with a budget. Companies looking for replacements to things like GoToMeeting, ReadyTalk or others should look elsewhere as this is a bit more niche to telecommuting teams.
