Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our company can be pretty scattered at times. Lifesize video helps us connect with our employees in real time who have tougher personal schedules to work around. Also, sometimes our conference rooms are too small for all of our attendees and this helps us coordinate between large groups that don't fit in one room.

Pros and Cons

The chat feature can be improved. It feels a little clunky.
The admin panel can be more user-friendly.
Compared to competitors, price isn't all that great.

Return on Investment

Regional meetings with Lifesize are a big cost saver. There's much less travel with our employees with the video conferencing.
I don't know how to mute users, so background noise can be an issue at times.
Sometimes we have connection issues even when our network is up and running, make us reschedule meetings.

Implementation Rating

The setup of the software itself was not all that bad. There were some permissions problems, but that is mainly due to our security. Setting up cameras took a very long time and delayed the use of the product. It took about 30 minutes per conference room. But once everything is up and ready, it is pretty reliable.

Alternatives Considered

Skype

We always had a bad time with Skype and could never really get 100% consistency with it. There is always someone who can't share their screen or even set up Skype meetings from their email. With Lifesize, I feel like it is a big upgrade from Skype as we haven't had any of these issues. Also, the quality of video and voice are much better with Lifesize.

Likelihood to Recommend

Ease of communication is where Lifesize really strives. We conduct our daily stand ups with Lifesize and it really helps us coordinate with our contractors in Mexico. Also, the ability to connect our sites to our partners and clients is very easy and can be done quickly. I haven't had any complaints with them and that's always a good sign.

Good, competitive video conferencing choice.
