Overall Satisfaction with Linode

We required a US based node for one of our clients, the requirements were speed and flexibility which Linode provides. I've been a client for over 12 years (on different companies I've work), it never disappoints. One of my favorite hosting providers out there, super reliable and fair priced. In all this time I've never had a major issue, or a minor they were not allowed to resolve for me.

Pros

  • Excellent tech support
  • Super fast infrastructure
  • You can configure anything, from DNS to load balancing, software, etc.
  • Very reliable, well monitored intances, almost 0% downtime

Cons

  • I have no complaints
  • An affordable tier (second or third to last cheapest one) would be enough to host a few small websites. You could get +300% return this way
I regard it the best of the bunch, Rackspace is reliable but too expensive, OVH is cheap but not that great infrastructure, Namecheap is fantastic, but i have not tested their hosting capabilities in depth, GoDaddy is, in my opinion, the worst of the worst, but they are well known so we have to live with them :/ Linode has a great balance of price, infrastructure, and support
Their support team is excellent, the only reason I give them 9/10 is because they can be a bit faster responding (I'm using Namecheap as a benchmark), but other than that, their support staff is very knowledgeable and professional. As I mentioned before, I've never had a bad experience with Linode and the support has always been able to solve any issues I've had (which BTW are not many).
Load balancing and running small websites on a dedicated server, especially for startups or small companies, is very affordable and provides good support and reliable incident recovery, like server backups. [Linode is] my go-to solution as long as they have a nearby datacenter (which they usually do), for small CPanel based virtual servers for a single website that can be easily managed by the client's IT team.
