Overall Satisfaction with Litmus

We use Litmus as our pre-deploy email testing solution for our email programs. We utilize the tool for around 3-5 campaigns/week. Fighting against the myriad troubles that email rendering systems cause is a constant struggle, but Litmus helps not only identify rendering issues but adjust and fix them directly in the application. Tack on robust deliverability testing tools, and you have a product that is invaluable to our program.

Pros

Cons

  • The snippets/templates are very helpful, but the UI isn't always the easiest to navigate
  • Saved time versus test: check: change code in ESP: test again
  • Better visibility into email metrics vs. our ESP
We have benefitted both from the deeper look at deliverability (Litmus is my first check when we are seeing indicators of an issue) as well as the ability to try more new things in our design with the confidence that they will render correctly.
Have not used Litmus Proof.

In early 2021, we made the switch for all our templates to support dark mode. The peculiarities (ie: ridiculous differences) between receiving email providers make for many difficult coding problems to troubleshoot for, particularly when trying to stay away from image-based email templates. The render tests and ability to modify code directly in Litmus were key.
