Overall Satisfaction with Loom
Loom is a program that we recently started to use in order to start having documentation of every employee and leaders day to day tasks, to create training videos for people using different programs, create onboarding videos for new hires to watch when joining our team, to document how our work is seen in the real world, and for a handful of other uses. This truly is a great program that has a lot of usage cases.
Pros
- The ability to record live video of your screen so you can record what you see in real-time.
- Loom has different storage options available so you can keep them in the cloud or store them on your own computer.
- Loom does a good job when it comes to sharing the videos you create with certain people on the team or certain groups.
Cons
- Loom has room for improvement when it comes to the UX and what the end-user sees. There are definitely areas that could be more intuitive and user-friendly.
- Loom on mobile devices is something that I would like to see some more work on. It is a very useful feature and I know we would use this.
- Loom does tend to have some audio quality issues that I have noticed on a few rare occasions. Obviously this comes down the quality of your computer and recording equipment but I believe there could be improvements made when it comes to different settings for different equipment.
- Helped us be able to record and send videos through the cloud with remote users of our company.
- It has saved us a lot of man hours when it comes to training and onboarding. Something that used to take a few hours at least is now 1 video that new hires can watch.
- This program has also made it very easy to be able to record videos of what our products look like online in real-time as we scroll through a page which is much better than a screenshot.
- Zoom
Loom and Zoom are very similar products and stack up fairly close to one another. The difference between the two apps for me is how polished Zoom seems compared to Loom. While Loom is in no way not a good product, it feels to me as though they are playing catch up and I have noticed that they are releasing new features and updates as they go. While this is great, these seem like things that could have been included in the initial release.

Using Loom
35 - We have many different people who use Loom and for many different reasons or functions. Our Sales Team often uses Loom to be able to pitch our products or to conduct monthly or quarterly reviews with our current clients. We also have support calls for various internal and external support purposes that take place on Loom. We have also used this product for conducting interviews which has been very beneficial.
5 - There really isn't much needed to support Loom as a product for many companies. We have admins and team leaders or directors who support this product but as far as the skills required, it does not take much. Anyone with a somewhat technological background or at least some know-how and a way to contact their support team could handle supporting this product.
