Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart
Lucidchart has been a handy tool over the last few years of my career. As a designer, I use it during my day to day work to create user flows. All the organizations I had worked with use/had used Lucidchart. It helps us quickly define the various paths we discuss into a visual form for someone else to promptly follow and refer to, thereby reducing the time taken to explain the process in person.
- The templates provided are nice starter points and are thought-provoking.
- All the basic tools are available quickly and can be easily discovered.
- The templates are although good, don't provide more value that inspiration.
- Lack of compatibility with other apps like Visio is a minus.
- Free tier is great and doesn't demand too much training costing the company.
- Lack of a desktop app is hurting offline creation, as far as I know.
Sketch is very attractive in terms of the plugin support and prototyping capabilities. Although it is made for a different purpose, it also adds the same value without using Lucidchart. Offline is a great deal for designers, and Sketch delivers. This is also positive for Visio. Although the latter isn't as powerful as Lucidchart, the integrations with other products in the Microsoft ecosystem makes it attractive.
