Overall Satisfaction with Lucidchart

Lucidchart is super intuitive to use--drag the icon or double click the icon to the pane. Double clicking on the icons gives you automatic drawings and connection to other icons. It is easy to get started with a ton of categorized templates. Additionally, for icons that it does not come with, you can easily search online and import them as icons.
Lucidchart is being used as the main diagramming application for all the projects that we do. It is being used throughout the organization to design and blueprint various data product solutions that we are building. It comes with pre-imported templates and a massive amount of icons that allow easier drawing and development.
  • Many built-in icons
  • Integrated well with web search icons
  • Nice graphic and automatic drawing assistant
  • Not well integrated with other diagramming options
  • Can only output PDF, PNG, and Lucidchart files
  • Faster architecture approval through sharing feature
  • Improved productivity
  • Time saved on drawing due to nice automatic features
I mainly use Lucidchart to draw my cloud architecture diagram, and it has been super easy to use and delivered better time savings and faster project completion. I found the pre-built icons for AWS lag behind the official AWS published version, but that is a small drawback since it has a well-integrated web search capability.
Lucidchart is a great tool to have for any tech companies developing and deploying cloud products, or other industries that rely heavily on visualizing the flow in order to determine project scope. I would give a high rating to Lucidchart because of its intuitiveness, how well integrated it is, and sharing features that come with it.

Would you buy Lucid Visual Collaboration Suite again?

Yes

They are very similar products, and the features offered by both applications are very similar as well. The only difference I can really think of between the two is the list of pre-built icons that come with the product. Lucidchart has far more built-in icons than draw.io and greater coverage.
Although Lucidchart has some drawbacks, it is still a super useful intelligent diagramming application that offers a great features. Lucidchart has a ton of built-in icons for all cloud providers as well as other flow diagram use cases. One thing I like a lot about Lucidchart is the lining and connection between icons, which is all automatic and easy to use.
