Overall Satisfaction with Magento Open Source
Magento is our backbone. Our front-end website pulls product and catalog data from this tool. Our customer service team relies on this as a pseudo-CRM as all our customer data live on this platform. Our tool is also designed to work with our 3PL's backend service for seamless warehouse, inventory, and order management.
- It's a decent system for a start-up company.
- A lot of extensions can work with it: billing, order management, customer communication, and payment processors to name a few.
- Highly customizable and reusable.
- For a normal user, there is a learning curve.
- Code clean up can sometimes be a headache.
- It's sometimes sluggish.
- We didn't have to spend a lot on premium/paid products where most features go unused
- We built the system based on our needs and are able to modify it on the fly.
- A lot of engineering hours have been put to make it work for us.
The full customization and integration benefits made us stay with Magento.
