Mailfence: An extremely disappointing experience. Setup of domain name: Very opaque. It also took 4 days for the propagation to register. I am not sure if mailfence was at all responsible but a transfer propagation to another provider was almost instant! Usage: I was able to connect the email to both a Linux client (Kmail) and an Android client relatively easy. My main use however was to use that domain email for service with my domain server. This did NOT work. Both Wordpress and Invoiceninja could not connect to Mailfence. Four other email providers could do so! Telnet could not connect to Mailfence. I tested with 3 others successfully. Mailfence's response was: wrong configs. Successful connection with two other clients on other devices as well as Telnet belies this. Response time: Mailfence replies were anywhere between two to five days. Completely unacceptable for paid support. Storage: Mailfence also offers storage. Connection via KDE Dolphin on a Plasma desktop was finicky. It sometimes worked - sometimes not. On top of this files that were stored there were all gone the next day! Mailfence did not give a reason as to why they disappeared. Their storage cannot be trusted. Open source: Mailfence has promoted its intentions to go Open Source but this seems to be an unfulfilled ongoing claim. Recompense for lack of service: Mailfence refused to refund.
