Overall Satisfaction with Marketo

Marketo is used in a decentralized environment with about 10 offices in so many countries. For us Marketo serves two goals: First, it allows marketers in the branches to manage their own online marketing e.g. set up landing pages and emailings. Secondly it allows us to nurture the leads that we have using marketing automation streams.
  • Very powerful and great depth of functionality especially in their marketing automation functionality.
  • Great and extensive reporting.
  • It's about the only tool that allows collaboration in the same tool with multiple offices, without the danger of making mistakes that affect everyone.
  • Quite a technical tool which some call not user friendly, and as a result of that we've received quite some push internally to switch to HubSpot.
  • Onboarding was not enough to get us going, we had to figure out a lot for ourselves.
  • Marketo is mainly a marketing automation tool, and not very good at things like social and SEO.
  • Independence of marketers in local offices (no need to involve head office,r for example for landing page creation).
Marketo is a marketing automation power house with great reporting. HubSpot wasn't really able to handle the decentralized marketing structure that we have.
It depends to what extend you're willing to deal with the technical nature of the tool. In the end it's still very powerful. If you want marketers to work with it independently, then marketo might not be your best choice.
